After starting life creating soundtracks for The National Shakespeare Company Children's Festivals over six years ago, I have excelled in many different aspects of composition. As a first study Music Technology student at Birmingham Conservatoire most of my time has been spent exploring and developing new ways of composing with technology for fixed media. As a recent Sonology Erasmus student at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, I started to explore the integration of live performance systems and integrating the use of audience subconscious interactions as a control measure. The creation of bespoke hardware and software systems produces a secondary compositional output within my work, with my main focus on the research of human interaction within interactive performance systems. Since 2011 I have been learning and developing my skills in various computer-programming languages. Starting with Pure Data, further training in Max, Ardunio, MatLab, SuperCollider, Python, and HTML/CSS/PHP has allowed me a depth of understanding to develop the scope of my creative audio programming output. I work under the pseudonym of MisTek for all of my creative programming and experimental electronics ventures. www.sophielouisemercedes.com
